Classical Guitar #161

Classical Guitar #161

  • 3 piece Brazilian Back showing considerable sap wood
  • Matching sides and peg head veneers (front and back)
  • Vintage European spruce top
  • Mahogany Neck
  • 65 cm. string length

In the summer of 2015, I started to mentally picture an improvement to the cutaway design – a smooth transition enabling the hand to glide above the 12th fret without obstruction. I chose a striking Brazilian back, made book matched peg head veneers with sapwood complimenting the contrasting colours in the back. A “vintage” top was selected. The guitar was built in the spring of 2016. As it was being constricted, I was able to frame the neck to rib junction with purfling matching the rest of the instrument. This guitar is strong throughout it”s range and the notes seem to float forever. It is an outstanding guitar to play, either at home or in concert.
